When you want to increase your finances, the first thing you normally do is trim your expenses. While this is a great measure, it only goes so far. Unless you want to live like a pauper, most people can’t cut that much more out of their expenses to make a big enough difference. Earning extra money may be just the ticket for some of you that aren’t interested in living a frugal lifestyle. I do both, earn extra and live frugally.
If you are looking to increase your revenue then consider making more money, or as I like to say; make more moolah! (See what I did there? I love alliteration) Opportunities to earn more money are all around, so way not capitalize on them? While the gigs requiring more experience will pay more money, for those starting out, even the earnings of lower-paying jobs will add up over time. That extra money can be put toward helping you pay down debt, boost your net worth or save for big goals.
Over the next few weeks. I am going to offer a few of my favorite way’s to make more moolah. Let’s get this moolah party started!
Freelancing is the next best thing to being paid more for your full-time work, because professional work always pays more than unskilled. To find opportunities, let former colleagues or other personal connections that you’re available for freelance gigs. Or, post on marketplaces particular to your field. For instance, Mediabistro, a journalism site, allows freelancers to post profiles of their experience and services. Though these are more up to chance, designers can bid on jobs at 99Designs.com or submit a design atThreadless, to see if it will be crowdfunded. Elance-Odesk also lists many freelance opportunities, and you can also post your own services on Fiverr, although some freelancers say these services create a race to the bottom on fees and so are not very lucrative.
My present job allows me an opportunity to freelance in that particular field reviewing accident files as an independent adjuster. I am able to earn a few extra dollars a month, which allows me to do more saving and investing.
